About Haliclystus sanjuanensis

Haliclystus sanjuanensis is a small stalked jellyfish species, growing to approximately 4 centimeters in size. It is found in the Pacific Ocean along the west coast of North America. This species lives in shallow waters exposed at low tide, on soft substrates including the seagrass genus Phyllospadix. It displays a range of color morphs, from yellow-green to red. Sequence data confirmed it was a distinct taxon, and it was formally described as a separate species in 2023.
