About Gymnosporangium clavipes Cooke & Peck
Gymnosporangium clavipes Cooke & Peck is a fungal plant pathogen that causes the disease cedar-quince rust. Like the related species Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae and Gymnosporangium globosum, this fungus infects a broad group of Rosaceae plant species, including apple, hawthorn, and quince trees. To finish its life cycle, the fungus also needs an evergreen host, such as eastern red cedar or any of multiple other juniper species.
