Gymnopus spongiosus, commonly called the hairy-stalked collybia, is a mushroom-forming fungus species that belongs to the family Omphalotaceae. In North America, its fruiting bodies grow from late summer through fall, and also in winter along the Gulf Coast. This species also occurs infrequently in South America. It is not classified as an edible mushroom.
