About Guacamaya superba Maguire

Guacamaya is a genus of plants in the family Rapateaceae, first described and established as a genus in 1931. Only one species in this genus is currently known, named Guacamaya superba Maguire. This species is native to the Río Guainía region, which lies along the shared border between Colombia and Venezuela. Within this broader region, it occurs in the Vaupés and Guainía departments of Colombia, and in the Amazonas state of Venezuela.
