About Griseargiolestes intermedius (Tillyard, 1913)

Griseargiolestes intermedius (Tillyard, 1913) is a species of Australian damselfly belonging to the family Argiolestidae. It is commonly known as the alpine flatwing. This species is endemic to alpine areas of Victoria and New South Wales, where it lives in bogs and seepages. It is a medium-sized damselfly, with a black-green metallic body marked by pale patches; adult individuals are slightly pruinescent. Like other members of the Argiolestidae family, it rests with its wings held outspread. Griseargiolestes intermedius looks similar to Griseargiolestes griseus, a related species that lives further north in New South Wales.
