About Graphium porthaon (Hewitson, 1865)

Graphium porthaon, commonly called the coastal swordtail, cream-striped swordtail, or dark swordtail, is a species of butterfly in the family Papilionidae. It is found in tropical western Africa. The wingspan of this species ranges from 55 to 60 mm for males and 60 to 65 mm for females. External images of Graphium porthaon are held by the Royal Museum of Central Africa. The species produces continuous broods throughout the warmer months. Its larvae feed on Artabotrys monteiroae, Annona, Uvaria, Friesodielsia obovata, Cleistochlamys kirkii, Monodora junodii, Monanthotaxis caffra, Uvaria caffra, and Uvaria kirkii.
