Goodyera tesselata G.Lodd. is a plant species belonging to the orchid family, Orchidaceae. Its common name is checkered rattlesnake plantain. This species is native to eastern Canada, ranging from Manitoba to Newfoundland, and to the northeastern United States, where it occurs from Maine to Maryland and extends west to Minnesota. Goodyera tesselata produces low-growing basal leaves marked with white reticulated lines. Its inflorescence is an upright stalk that bears small white flowers.
