About Goodenia decurrens R.Br.
Goodenia decurrens is an erect, hairless undershrub that usually reaches a height of 80 cm (31 inches). Its leaves are decurrent, stem-clasping without a stalk, and shaped from lance-like to elliptic. They measure 50โ100 mm (2.0โ3.9 in) in length, 10โ25 mm (0.39โ0.98 in) in width, and have toothed margins. Flowers are arranged in racemes or thyrses that can grow up to 450 mm (18 in) long. The inflorescence has linear to lance-shaped bracts up to 10 mm (0.39 in) long at its base, and each individual flower sits on a stalk up to 10 mm (0.39 in) long. The sepals are narrowly egg-shaped, 4โ7 mm (0.16โ0.28 in) long, and the petals are yellow and 15โ18 mm (0.59โ0.71 in) long. The lower lobes of the corolla are 7โ8 mm (0.28โ0.31 in) long, with wings 2โ3 mm (0.079โ0.118 in) wide. Flowering occurs mostly from October to March, and the fruit is an oval capsule around 9 mm (0.35 in) long. This species of goodenia grows on sandstone cliffs in forested areas, found between Blackheath and Wollar in New South Wales.
