About Goniobranchus coi (Risbec, 1956)
Goniobranchus coi has a white body and white foot. It can be immediately identified by its clear, distinct dorsal pattern. The outer section of its mantle is yellow, and it is separated from the inner light-brown section of the mantle by a wavy white and black line. The outer edge of the mantle is brown, with a thin purple line along the margin. The colour of the gills and rhinophores varies between individual specimens, ranging from translucent white, through pale-yellow, to light-brown. This species grows to a length of at least 50 mm. This species was first described from Vietnam. It lives in the tropical Western Pacific Ocean, found from Australia to the Philippines, and rarely occurs as far east as the Marshall Islands. Like most sea slugs in the superfamily Doridoidea, Goniobranchus coi feeds on sponges. It has been observed feeding on the sponge species Chelonaplysilla violacea.
