Goniobranchus aureopurpureus (Collingwood, 1881) is a very colourful species of sea slug. It is a dorid nudibranch, which is a type of marine gastropod mollusk that belongs to the family Chromodorididae. This species was originally described based on specimens collected from the coast of China. It has been reported from many locations across the central Indo-Pacific Ocean, ranging from the west coast of Australia to Japan and the Marshall Islands.
