Gonatodes riveroi is a moderately large species within the Gonatodes genus. The maximum recorded snout-to-vent length for this species is 4.8 cm (1.9 in). This species is native to central Colombia, where it occurs in Boyacá Department, Cundinamarca Department, and Meta Department. Its preferred natural habitat is forest, located at altitudes ranging from 230 m to 1,200 m (750 ft to 3,940 ft).
