About Glyphidocera lithodoxa Meyrick, 1929

Glyphidocera lithodoxa is a species of moth belonging to the family Autostichidae. This species was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1929. It is distributed in North America, and has been officially recorded in the regions of Maine, Massachusetts, Ontario, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The wingspan of adult Glyphidocera lithodoxa ranges from 14 to 15 mm. The forewings are a pale grayish ocherous shade, dotted and scattered with gray scales. The wing's stigmata are gray: the plical and first discal stigmata are small, and are either indistinct or completely absent; the plical stigma is positioned rather far forward, while the second discal stigma is moderately large, round, and clearly defined. The hindwings are a grayish whitish color, and are suffused with pale gray toward the apex.
