Glossodoris buko is a nudibranch species that was long confused with a similar species, found off Papua New Guinea and the Philippines.
This species was previously confused with Glossodoris pallida. It can be distinguished from other species that have very similar appearance by differences in its colouration, internal anatomy, and DNA sequences. The type locality of Glossodoris buko is Bilbil Island, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea, at coordinates 5.2963°S 145.7811°E. Specimens of this species have also been collected at Bohol Island and Luzon Island in the Philippines.
