About Glossodoris acosti S.B.Matsuda & Gosliner, 2018

This species was previously confused with Glossodoris cincta. It can be distinguished from other species that have very similar appearance by differences in coloration details, internal anatomy, and DNA sequences. The type locality of Glossodoris acosti is Rempi, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea. The original description of this species also includes paratype specimens collected from the Philippines. This species is probably widespread throughout the central Indo-Pacific Ocean.
