About Glaucolepis saccharella (Braun, 1912) Braun, 1917
Glaucolepis saccharella, originally published under the name Trifurcula saccharella, is a moth species in the Nepticulidae family. It is found in Ohio, United States. This moth has a wingspan of approximately 4 mm. Mined leaves from this species can be collected in early July and late August; third-generation larvae are sometimes found in October. Moths that develop from overwintering pupae emerge during May and June. The larvae of Glaucolepis saccharella feed on two host plants: Acer saccharum and Acer rubrum, and they create mines within the leaves of these host plants.
