Gladiolus crassifolius Baker is a perennial Gladiolus species native to Africa. This plant grows sturdy, substantial stems and produces brightly coloured flowers. It has numerous scientific synonyms, and in tropical regions, the taxon is widely known by the synonym Gladiolus thomsonii. One confirmed location where this species grows is the Afro-alpine zone of Mount Kenya, at elevations reaching approximately 3,300 m (11,000 ft). Its flowers have scarlet petals with yellow centres. It has been observed growing in multiple habitat types, including forest edges and open grassland.
