Gibasis pellucida (M.Martens & Galeotti) D.R.Hunt is a creeping plant that grows between 20cm and 50cm tall. It has thin stems and narrow green leaves, with purple coloring on the underside of the leaves. Most of the year, this plant produces an abundance of small, showy white flowers. In cultivation, it is commonly grown as an ornamental plant, used both in hanging baskets and as a groundcover. It grows best in warm, humid conditions, and requires protection from direct sunlight and severe frost. It roots easily from cuttings.
