About Gerres longirostris (Lacepède, 1801)

The genus Gerres consists of mojarras. Most species of this genus live in coastal areas ranging from the eastern Atlantic Ocean, through the Indian Ocean, to the western Pacific. Only one species, G. simillimus, occurs in the East Pacific. Members of the genus primarily live in saltwater and brackish water, but they can also enter fresh water.
