About Geranium reuteri Aedo & Muñoz Garm.
Geranium reuteri Aedo & Muñoz Garm. is a large perennial herbaceous plant with a short stem and deeply divided leaves. It forms dense, bright-colored carpets across the ground of laurel forests and wax myrtle-tree heath scrub. Its leaves grow in a rosette from a woody base or short stem, reaching up to 8 cm (3.1 in) wide, and each leaf is borne on a long stalk. Flowers measure 2–3 cm (0.8–1.2 in) across. Every flower has five sepals and five pink petals that have whitish undersides. Flowers appear between late March and mid-May, and are held on a branched inflorescence; both the leaves of this species are deeply divided into lobes. This species is native to the Canary Islands, where it occurs on the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, and Gran Canaria. It is not found on the eastern Canary Islands, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. It grows in relatively moist woodland habitats, including laurel woods, cloud forest zones, and pine woods.
