Geomyza tripunctata Fallén, 1823 is a species of fly belonging to the family Opomyzidae. This species occurs in the Palearctic realm. Adults can be found from May through November. It is a herb-dwelling species that inhabits grasslands and cereal fields. It is common across Europe, and also present in Norway, Lapland Siberia, Algeria, and Tunisia. It can be found at elevations up to 2,300 meters. Its larvae tunnel into the stems of grasses and cereal plants.
