About Gelidea torrida (Erichson, 1842)

Gelidea is a monotypic genus of cicadas, belonging to the family Cicadidae, subfamily Cicadettinae, and tribe Cicadettini. This genus was first described in 2012 by Maxwell Sydney Moulds, an Australian entomologist. Its only accepted species is Gelidea torrida (Erichson, 1842), which is found in southern Victoria and Tasmania.
