About Geijera linearifolia (DC.) J.M.Black
Geijera linearifolia is an erect, heavily branched shrub that usually reaches a height of 1 to 3 meters (3 feet 3 inches to 9 feet 10 inches). This species has simple leaves, ranging from linear to oblong or egg-shaped with the narrower end at the base. The leaves measure 15 to 65 millimeters (0.59 to 2.56 inches) long and 2 to 5 millimeters (0.079 to 0.197 inches) wide, and grow on a channelled petiole 2 to 5 millimeters (0.079 to 0.197 inches) long. Its flowers are hairless, arranged in much-branched cymes 10 to 30 millimeters (0.39 to 1.18 inches) long. Each flower sits on a pedicel 1 to 3 millimeters (0.039 to 0.118 inches) long, and the petals are egg-shaped, colored white to greenish-white, and 1.5 to 2 millimeters (0.059 to 0.079 inches) long. Flowering takes place from August to October. The fruit is 4 to 6 millimeters (0.16 to 0.24 inches) long and 3 to 4 millimeters (0.12 to 0.16 inches) wide, and holds a single shiny black seed. Geijera linearifolia grows on rocky limestone on flats and around the edges of salt lakes, in woodland and dry scrub habitats. It is found between Lake Kirk, located between Norseman and Dundas in central-southern Western Australia, and the Murray River in South Australia.
