About Gaurena florens Walker, 1865
Gaurena florens Walker, 1865 is a moth species belonging to the family Drepanidae. This species has been recorded in Nepal, India (specifically the Darjeeling and Sikkim regions), Myanmar, China (including Gansu, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tibet), Bhutan, Vietnam, and Thailand. Adults of Gaurena florens have a wingspan of approximately 40 millimeters. Their forewings are an olive brown color overlaid with a yellow suffusion, and all markings on the forewings are pale yellow or white. A small spot is present near the base of the forewing, followed by a wavy subbasal band. There is an additional small spot inside the cell, and a larger spot positioned at the end of the cell. A postmedial patch is found on the costa, with two more patches located at the apex and outer angle of the forewing. A submarginal series of crescent-shaped lunulate spots and a separate marginal series of the same spots run along the outer edge of the wing. The costa, along with vein 1 and vein 2, is marked with small yellow spots.
