About Gaultheria mucronata (L.fil.) Hook. & Arn.

Gaultheria mucronata (L.fil.) Hook. & Arn. is a compact, bushy evergreen shrub with glossy green leaves. In spring, it produces solitary white flowers. These flowers are followed by showy, globose berries in autumn, which reach up to 1.5 cm (0.59 in) in diameter. The berries come in shades ranging from deep plum purple, through pink, to pure white. This species is dioecious, so both male and female plants must be grown together to produce fruit. It prefers moist, shaded growing conditions.
