Gastropacha populifolia, commonly known as the poplar lappet, is a moth species belonging to the family Lasiocampidae. Its distribution ranges across Southern and Central Europe, extending through Russia, India, and China to reach Japan. Males of this species have a wingspan of 45–65 mm, while females have a larger wingspan of 65–80 mm. Depending on the location, adult moths are active in flight from June to August. The larvae of Gastropacha populifolia feed on Populus and willow species.
