About Gastridiota adoxima Turner, 1902

Gastridiota is a monotypic genus that contains only one species: Gastridiota adoxima, a moth in the family Bombycidae. Alfred Jefferis Turner erected the genus Gastridiota in 1922. Turner first described the species itself in 1902, under the original name Andraca adoxima. This moth is found in subtropical eastern Australia. Its range extends from the Bunya Mountains and Montville in southern Queensland to north-eastern New South Wales. The wingspan of Gastridiota adoxima is around 30 mm.
