About Garthia gaudichaudii (Duméril & Bibron, 1836)
Garthia gaudichaudii, commonly called the Chilean marked gecko, is a species of lizard belonging to the family Phyllodactylidae. This species is endemic to Chile, where it occurs within the Chilean matorral ecoregion. Three subspecies of Garthia gaudichaudii are currently recognized. The geographic range of G. gaudichaudii covers the Chilean regions of Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, and Valparaíso. Its preferred natural habitats are desert and shrubland, found at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 1,100 meters (3,600 feet). Garthia gaudichaudii reproduces via oviparity.
