About Garrya flavescens S.Watson

Garrya flavescens S.Watson is a shrub that reaches a maximum height of nearly three meters. It has oval-shaped leaves that grow up to 7 or 8 centimeters long, and are approximately half that measurement in width. The underside of the leaves ranges from hairless to very hairy, and is a pale dusty gray color. This species is dioecious; both male and female individuals produce long, hanging flower clusters. After flowering, female plants develop bunches or clusters of spherical, hair-covered berries.
