The lesser necklaced laughingthrush, scientifically named Garrulax monileger (Hodgson, 1836), is a bird species in the family Leiothrichidae. Its geographic range extends across the eastern Himalayas, southern China and Indochina. The species' natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. In terms of behavior and ecology, lesser necklaced laughingthrushes may be mimics of greater necklaced laughingthrushes, which are the dominant species in mixed-species flocks.
