About Garrulax albogularis (Gould, 1836)

The white-throated laughingthrush is a passerine bird species belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. It is mainly found in northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, most notably the Himalayas, as well as in some adjacent and disjunct areas. Its range spans Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. This species was previously classified in the genus Garrulax, but after a comprehensive molecular phylogenetic study was published in 2018, it was moved to the resurrected genus Pterorhinus. This species was originally published as Garrulax albogularis (Gould, 1836).
