About Garrha ocellifera (Meyrick, 1883)
Garrha ocellifera is a moth species belonging to the family Oecophoridae. This species is native to Australia, with confirmed recorded occurrences in the Australian states and territories of Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, and Tasmania. The wingspan of adult Garrha ocellifera measures roughly 14.5 to 17 millimeters. The species' forewings are pale ochreous in color. They feature a small, cloudy, semi-oval dark purplish-fuscous spot on the inner margin near the base, and a large, roundish, well-defined dark purplish-fuscous blotch in the center of the disc. Within this central blotch are two fairly large, roundish spots made of whitish blue scales mixed with blackish scales; each of these spots is surrounded by a suffused blackish ring. Between the central blotch and the wing apex runs an outwardly curved, cloudy dark fuscous transverse line. There are also two or three dark fuscous-grey scales along the hindmargin surrounding the apex. The hindwings are dark fuscous-grey, with a whitish-ochreous coloration towards the base and costa. The larvae of Garrha ocellifera feed on dead leaves of Angophora costata. Pupation of this species occurs inside a case.
