About Garrha costimacula (Meyrick, 1883)
Garrha costimacula is a species of moth belonging to the family Oecophoridae. It was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1883. This species is found in Australia, with recorded occurrences in Queensland and New South Wales. It has a wingspan measuring 18 to 21 millimeters. Its forewings are ochreous carmine pink, covered with scattered whitish-ochreous scales. The costa is narrowly a deeper pink, and the scale tips are whitish ochreous. There is a dark fuscous dot in the disc before the middle, a second rather larger dot that is sometimes distinctly double in the disc beyond the middle, and a third dot lying obliquely beyond the first one on the fold. A very irregular cloudy grey transverse line runs close to the base, which is darker along the costa. There is also a distinct cloudy, strongly and irregularly dentate transverse grey line extending from the costa to the inner margin, and another more strongly dentate line from the costa to the middle of the inner margin; both of these lines form small dark grey spots on the costa. A slenderer, more distinct dark grey sinuate or dentate line runs obliquely outwards from the costa, then curves sharply to reach the inner margin before the anal angle, and is thickened and darker near the costa. Additionally, there is a cloudy grey shade running from the costa to the inner margin before the anal angle, which becomes considerably broader towards the costa. A small cloudy grey spot is located towards the middle of the hindmargin, and a row of distinct dark grey dots runs along the hindmargin and the apical fourth of the costa. The hindwings are ochreous grey, with the costa and base a lighter whitish ochreous color.
