This species is native to the Mediterranean Basin, ranging from Portugal and Morocco east to Turkey and Palestine. It has been reported as naturalized in Great Britain, Central Europe (from Switzerland to Poland), the Canary Islands, Madeira, and Wayne County, Michigan.
