Galium rubioides, commonly known as European bedstraw, is a plant species belonging to the family Rubiaceae. It is native to Europe and Asia. Its natural native range extends from Austria and Croatia eastward to Russia and Turkey, and also includes the Caucasus, Western Siberia, Kazakhstan, northern China (specifically Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Jilin, Liaoning, and Xinjiang provinces), and the Amur region of Russia. The species has also been reported to be naturalized in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Galium rubioides is an erect herb that can grow up to 100 cm tall. It has broad leaves that reach up to 20 cm in length and 15 cm in width, which are typically arranged in whorls of 4. Both the fruits and roots of this species have a reddish coloration.
