About Galium andrewsii A.Gray

Galium andrewsii A.Gray is a low perennial herb that grows in clumps or mats, reaching no more than about 22 centimeters in height. Narrow, needle-shaped leaves in shades from green to grayish grow in whorls of four on the plant's slender branches. Each leaf is up to one centimeter long, and ends in a sharp point tipped with a hair. This species is dioecious: individual plants produce only male or only female flowers. Male flowers grow in clusters, while female flowers grow singly. Both types of flower are greenish-yellow and otherwise look similar. The fruit of Galium andrewsii is a berry.
