Gahnia pauciflora, commonly known as cutting sedge, is a species of sedge native to New Zealand. It occurs across the whole of the North Island and the northern part of the South Island of New Zealand. Its specific epithet pauciflora is Latin for 'few-flowered'. This species acts as a host and food plant for the rare forest ringlet butterfly.
