About Frullania nisquallensis Sull.
Frullania nisquallensis, which has the scientific name Frullania nisquallensis Sull., is commonly called the hanging millipede liverwort. It is a reddish-brown liverwort species that belongs to the family Frullaniaceae. This species occurs in western Washington, British Columbia, and includes Vancouver Island within its range. The plant grows in mats. These mats sometimes hang from tree branches, especially branches of alders or maples, and sometimes grow close to the substrate. Its leaves are small, measuring 1 mm long, and flat. Lower leaves on the stem are slightly smaller than leaves that grow higher up the stem.
