About Frontinella pyramitela (Walckenaer, 1841)
Frontinella pyramitela, originally described by Walckenaer in 1841, are small spiders reaching about 4 mm (0.15 inches) in size. Their bodies are typically reddish-brown, with legs that are more yellowish in color. The abdomen has short hairs and decorative white dots along its sides. This species can be found across a wide range of habitats and climates. Common habitats include temperate woods and alpine forests, but they also occur in tropical, humid regions. They are most commonly distributed in North America, and are frequently found in the United States. They are most active during two periods each year: from May through June, and again in September.
