About Fromia milleporella (Lamarck, 1816)

Fromia milleporella (Lamarck, 1816) is commonly known as the red seastar. This species can reach a diameter of about 15 centimetres, or 5.9 inches. Individual red seastars of this species can display various different shades of red. This species is distributed across the Indo-West Pacific. Its range extends as far south as Madagascar and as far north as the Red Sea, and it can also be found in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, the Bay of Bengal, the East Indies, northern Australia, the Philippines, China, southern Japan, and the South Pacific. It inhabits waters at depths between 0 and 73 metres.
