Freesia fergusoniae L.Bolus is a perennial geophyte that is endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa, and it is part of the fynbos vegetation community. This species is found across the area stretching from Swellendam to Oudtshoorn and Mossel Bay. The plant has lost over 70% of its original habitat to agricultural activities, which has also left all remaining populations of the species fragmented. Ongoing habitat loss for this species continues to occur.
