About Frasera parryi Torr.
Frasera parryi (Torrey) is a perennial herb that grows one or two erect stems that reach up to 1.5 meters tall. Its basal leaves are lance-shaped, strap-shaped, or somewhat oval and elongated with pointed tips, and can grow up to 25 centimeters long. Leaves positioned higher on the stem are widely lance-shaped to oval, smaller in size, and arranged oppositely. All leaves are green with white margins. The inflorescence is an open panicle of flowers that sits at the top of the stem. Each flower has a calyx made of four pointed sepals, and a corolla of four pointed lobes that are each 1 to 2 centimeters long. The corolla is greenish with purple speckles, and each corolla lobe has a fringe of hairs near its base. Each flower also has four stamens tipped with large anthers, and a central ovary.
