Frankenia laevis, commonly known as sea heath, is a low-growing shrub belonging to the family Frankeniaceae. This species is native to southwestern Europe, Great Britain, northwestern Africa, and Macaronesia, and it grows in coastal habitats. It is considered a rare plant within Britain. Its confirmed native distribution includes: southwestern Europe (the Balearic Islands, Corsica, France, Italy, Portugal, Sardinia, Spain, and Sicily), Great Britain, the Azores, and western North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia).
