About Francoa appendiculata A.Juss.

Francoa appendiculata A.Juss. is an herb species in the Francoaceae family that is endemic to Chile. According to Plants of the World Online, it is the only recognized species in the genus Francoa. The Catalogue of the vascular plants of Chile accepts three varieties of this species: Francoa appendiculata Cav. var. appendiculata, Francoa appendiculata Cav. var. ramosa (D. Mature plants can reach up to one meter in height, and form basal clumps of round, deeply lobed, dark green, fuzzy leaves with winged leaf stalks. In summer and early fall, they produce compact racemes of small cup-shaped pink flowers that have red markings.
