About Ficus fistulosa Reinw. ex Blume

Scientific name: Ficus fistulosa Reinw. ex Blume. Description: When ripe, the fruits of this species are greenish yellow. Ecology: A survey carried out in Hong Kong observed fruit bats feeding on the seeded figs of F. fistulosa, along with two other species from the subgenus Sycomorus: F. hispida and F. variegata. Most of the feeding bats were identified as Cynopterus sphinx. The larger bat individuals observed were thought to be Rousettus leschenaultii, which is the only other fruit bat species present in Hong Kong.
