The rufous-chested flycatcher, with the scientific name Ficedula dumetoria, is a bird species that belongs to the Muscicapidae family. This species is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The rufous-chested flycatcher is currently threatened by habitat loss. It is an insectivorous species. Ficedula dumetoria riedeli, which was previously classified as a subspecies of this bird, is now most commonly recognized as a separate full species: the Tanimbar flycatcher.
