This is a species of Felimida, with the scientific name Felimida macfarlandi (Cockerell, 1901). Individuals of this species can grow up to 44 millimeters in body length. The slug has a purple body marked with orange stripes. It sometimes has a short, flower-shaped tail, and two ear-like spots located on the sides of its head. This species is found in the Pacific Ocean, ranging from Central California in the United States to Baja California in Mexico.
