About Faunis canens Hübner
Faunis canens, commonly known as the common faun, is a butterfly species that belongs to Morphinae, a subfamily of brush-footed butterflies. It is native to South and Southeast Asia. This species may be considered to include the Indian faun, Faunis arcesilaus. The range of the common faun extends from Sikkim to Assam and Myanmar, and continues through Thailand, peninsular Malaya, and Singapore to southern Yunnan and the western islands of the Indonesian archipelago. The larva of this butterfly feeds on plants of the genus Musa.
