About Faculta inaequalis (Busck, 1910)
Faculta inaequalis is a species of moth in the Gelechiidae family. It occurs in Mexico and the United States; within the U.S., it has been recorded in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. This moth has a wingspan of approximately 13 mm. Its forewings are an ochreous-white base color, speckled with grey, with sparser speckling on the basal third. There is a small blackish dot below the costa near the base, and a second raised dot beyond it in the disc. A narrow, barely oblique black fascia extends from the costa at one-third of the forewing, and does not reach the dorsum, with a faint rosy tinge below its outer end. The discal stigmata are very small and black; the second stigmata sits on the inner edge of a narrow transverse fascia, where the costal third of this fascia is black, the discal section is whitish, and the dorsal section is rosy-ochreous. There is some indistinct rosy-ochreous suffusion toward the wing apex, alongside small groups of dark grey scales on the costa near the apex. The hindwings are grey.
