About Eutorna tricasis Meyrick, 1906

Eutorna tricasis is a species of moth in the family Depressariidae. It is found in Australia, where it has only been recorded from the eastern region of the country. The wingspan of adult Eutorna tricasis measures 12 to 16 mm. Its forewings are colored bright ferruginous ochreous; some individuals have a brownish tinge toward the middle of the costa. The costal edge is whitish close to the base, and a slender whitish median longitudinal streak runs from the base to two-fifths of the wing length, with a blackish edge along its lower side that is absent near the base. A fine whitish oblique streak, with a scattering of black scales along its upper edge, runs from one-third of the costa to the upper of two transversely placed black dots that are circled in white, located in the disc at two-thirds of the wing length. There is also a fine oblique whitish streak with a blackish edge on its anterior side that starts before three-fourths of the costa, and does not reach halfway across the wing. A short white streak extends from the apex beneath the costa, and there are several undefined black markings on the apical portion of the costa and the termen. The hindwings are grey, and are lighter in color toward the base.
