About Eutorna symmorpha Meyrick, 1889

Eutorna symmorpha is a species of moth in the family Depressariidae. It was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1889. This moth is endemic to New Zealand. Its wingspan measures 12 to 14 mm. The forewings are yellow ochreous, and are sometimes obscurely streaked with whitish ochreous between the veins. The veins themselves are more reddish ochreous or brownish ochreous. A straight, slender reddish-brown streak runs from the middle of the base to the disc at two-fifths, ending in a small blackish spot. This streak is cloudy beneath, sharply defined above, and is sometimes bordered by an ochreous-whitish streak. A more or less distinct reddish-brown streak runs from the disc before the middle to the costa before the apex, ending in a patch of black scales. There are two black dots placed transversely in the disc at two-thirds of the wing length, and additional black scales along the hindmargin. The hindwings are light grey.
